WOMEN’S BOARD ADOPTS NEW NAME & MISSION STATEMENT
In 2016, the Women’s Board met and decided that it needed a new name. This has been discussed for some time. Members felt that we were no longer the Women’s Board of the past. Many wonderful women have supported this group in the past, but over the last 10 years ladies have not just served a 2 year term; they have stayed on as more of a social connection with other women. We have been more of a support group and a fundraising group for projects around our church. We have tried to create social events for women and, of course, we still have our wonderful salad luncheon.
We have developed a new mission statement.
To provide opportunity, encouragement and support for all the women of the church so they may participate in programs of worship, witness, service, and fellowship.
We decided on a mission statement because the by-laws of the past no longer relate to what we do.
We will continue to offer funeral dinners to our congregation, and fundraise to purchase things around the church, and give money to different organizations we have supported.
We hope our new name reflects this statement: WOMEN’S FELLOWSHIP.
We hope that all the ladies in our church will participate in planned activities and feel free to join us at any of our meetings on the third Tuesday of each month starting at 6:30. We do not have a meeting in December, and we do not meet in the summer. We are serving refreshments at our meetings and there are always plenty of ideas of things to do. Feel free to come to one or all of our meetings, any time.
